The Leader - George
Corradino
George has been the
leader of the Cavaliers Orchestra since 1992. From Miami, Florida, he
has played with many bands and professional artists and
performed with many shows throughout the Southeast. He was a charter member of the Florida State University
Marching
Chiefs and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia fraternity. He graduated in 1953, and
two generations of Marching Chief clarinetists have followed him at
Florida State.
George received his Doctorate from Auburn University where he
was a member of the Auburn Knights Orchestra for two years, one of
which he was
the leader. He has been a professional educator in several high schools
and universities. He is a member of the National High School Band Director's Hall of Fame. In addition to playing in the Cavaliers, George is
also the Leader of the Bob
Barr Community Band and St. Anne's adult church choir in Columbus,
and for thirty three years was the Leader of The Notables dance
combo.
Association with
the Cavaliers has enabled George to work with some of the finest
musicians in the area. Together, they have played
for thousands of people who enjoy quality listening and dancing to
exciting BIG BAND sounds from The Swinging Years as well as
popular latin, novelty, show tunes, light rock, holiday, jazz and
country favorites.
